I often think of trees as having a singular trunk but the Banyan Tree dispels that notion. One of the great short trails on the Big Island of Hawaii is the loop trail at Akaka Falls on the Hilo side of the island.  While walking this trail I captured this image which I still marvel at… the tree, not my photo.  Amazing to see all the “prop roots” that shoot out as the plant grows.  I love the range of greens in this tropical forest and the contrast between the browns and greens..  The shape of the canopy makes for an interesting image.
