Besakih Temple is located on the slopes of Mount Agung, an active volcano in the middle of the island of Bali.
It’s known as the “Mother Temple of Bali” and is considered to be the most important, largest, and holiest temple of Balinese Hinduism. As we walked up the temple grounds on the hill we encountered stone figures, one after another.

I captured this photo with one of the stones in sharp focus, using a shallow depth of field to keep the rest of the temple in the frame but less prominent than the primary figure.
