This photo still invites me to take the steps along the boardwalk towards Yosemite Falls. It’s a composition tool I like to use when I can, taking the photo with a path or railing or some element in the scene going from near me off to the distance.

Captured this photo in Yosemite Valley in April a few years ago. The morning sun had illuminated the valley walls and just started to light up the spray from the Upper Yosemite Falls but the valley was still in shadow. You can still see the light white dusting on the boardwalk in the center of the image. The blue sky contrasted with the granite cliffs and the greenery of the trees in the valley make a nice image by itself – the boardwalk in the shadows below as it curves forward make a nice invitation for the viewer into the photo.
