Usually when I see Orchids there is a single plant, perhaps because they are rare in the climate I live in. I have seen them in the trees, in their native habitat in several Southeast Asian countries.

On our recent trip to Singapore we visited the Singapore Botanical Gardens. It was hot and muggy but inside the Sembcorp Cool House it was air-conditioned, as it was designed to emulate a high elevation montane forest. Inside this building there was a number of rare and beautiful plants and flowers. One display that captured my attention was this large grouping of different color Orchids. So many colors and textures in this image that’s why I call it “Orchid Buffet”
