I love the warm colors and the glow on the chest features of this
Black Crowned Night Heron. I was walking around Vasona Lake in San Jose when I saw this beautiful bird perched on a branch over the water. The bird was facing the direction of the sun in it’s last hour on this day. I love the speckled colors of the Herons feathers and how the light highlights the features around it’s head and beak. I also enjoy the dark green of the foliage, out of focus which blends with the lake water in the background.
