In this photo we’re on a wooden boat in the muddy waters of the Mekong Delta, It was a day we visited the Cai Rang Floating Market, on the Can Tho River to be specific. This photo shows our guide as he is paying for our breakfast – our boat was briefly tethered to a floating kitchen. You can see our freshly prepared lunch in font of us. What you don’t see in this photo is the other small boat pulled alongside our left side, the beverage boat. From that vendor we purchased the Vietnamese Iced Coffee.
I love the vibrant blue on our boat along with the colorful bowls of food. Our guide reaching with bills to pay for the meal, the bots and pans in the kitchen boat all paint an image of life on the Mekong. It’s said to be the the most popular floating market in the world. A highly enjoyable, unique excursion.
