There is such a rich visual experience walking into temples in Asia, such a delight for the senses. We visited several temples in Singapore, from different faiths and traditions.

I love the look of this abundance of red paper lanterns. The one big gold lantern in the foreground is just ok but the shapes and depth of the many paper hangers behind is what I enjoy most in this image. I love the golden tassels handing down with the papers with good wishes below. The Chinese characters on both the lanterns and the papers add an element of culture. The lanterns seemingly go on forever.

This was captured at Thian Hock Keng, or the Temple of Heavenly Happiness. You walk through a neighborhood of homes and small cafes and all of a sudden you see this temple – the oldest in Singapore dating back to the 1820s.
