You may think I traveled to Holland for this photo but it was a bit closer, at the Western edge of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
I was fortunate to have the blue sky with light clouds on the day I visited. It was a bit tricky to have the flowers featured in the image while still capturing the entire windmill. I had to get down on my hands and knees to capture the photo, but I am happy with the result.
I did a little research and learned that this windmill was donated by the late Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands and it was originally used for irrigation in the City. Nowadays it’s a beautiful, unique sight near the coast of California.
