We love swimming/snorkeling around Sea Turtles.
On our trip to Bunaken Island, Indonesia we were blessed seeing many turtles over the 7 days of snorkeling. This is one of my favorite images of these beautiful, graceful animals. A moment I am happy to relive again and again (and can with this photo).
I love the deep blue background of the sea, with highlights of the sunlight shafts piercing the blue. The turtle is “frozen” between strokes of its flippers as it glides through the water. There were 2 different species of sea turtles in North Sulawesi (where Bunaken Island is located) – the Hawksbill Turtle and the Green Sea Turtle. From what I have read this is the Green Sea Turtle.
