Visiting the Badlands in South Dakota last year we stayed at a motel just outside the park boundaries.  The Badlands’ geologic formations were visible in the distance.  Our first morning I woke up early to see the sun rising over those hills in an attempt to capture interesting photos (and memories).  They were pretty far away so there was no great photo of the sun in the rock formations but I did look more closely at my surroundings and notice the grass with some Dandelions blooming.

I got down on all fours and capture a few photos.  In this image I like that the Dandelion seeds (tufts of white) are in focus and highlighted by the morning sun.  The sun itself is almost a halo on the horizon.  Some of the other grasses in the plains are visible but not prominently in focus.
