On our visit to Vietnam in 2019 we took an overnight train from Hanoi to Sapa in Northern Vietnam and spent 3 days hiking (many hours in the rain). We had a wonderful guide from Sapa Sisters – a woman owned travel company who took us through the beautifully green rice terraces and hills of the region.
As I was hiking down through one of the rice fields I turned around to capture this photo of my wife following behind me. I love the deep green colors set against the dramatic sky. It rained off an on the first two days but we were ready for that with hats and rain parkas. It was a great experience and this image takes me back to that trip.
