In the month of December you might expect snow but this image captures the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

I love the great expanse of the flats captured in this photo, as well as the layers of textured sky. The soft thin cirrus clouds at a higher altitude punctuated by the puffy cumulus clouds that are spread around the sky. And way back on the horizon the Silver Island Mountains add to the effect that you would have to travel a long way to get anywhere in this terrain.
