Growing up my mom really liked the singer Eddy Arnold. When I looked at this photo I was reminded of his song that starts “I’m sending you a big bouquet of roses”. I read the lyrics today and realize it’s not a happy song (the next line is “one for every time you broke my heart”. But I still like this image which I captured at a flower market in the Northern Thailand city of Chiang Mai.

Flowers in Southeast Asia markets are plentiful and fragrant. They are used for many ceremonial purposes and often crafted into beautiful offerings for temples and even peoples homes.  This photo reminds me of the volume of flowers, fresh cut flowers from that morning we see on our trips to Southeast Asia.
