Captured this photo of a bunch of California Poppies at China Camp State Park. You can see the tidal flats in the background and in the distance – San Pablo Bay.
I love the texture of the petals and how they interact with the sunlight. The green in the Poppy plant and the grass behind also add to the image. But probably the thing I like most about this image is the deep contrast between the orange in the Poppies and the deep blue of the sky. Orange and Blue are opposite (180-degress) on the Color Wheel, which makes the Poppies really “pop”.
