Several times a week I walk our dog around the lagoon at the Civic Center Park. There are often several species of Ducks and Canadian Geese there along with some occasional Cormorant, Turtle and even Otters.
The day I captured this image it was cloudy and cool. I saw these three Mallard Ducks swimming by and captured the photo. I like the washed out, even appearance of the pond (like they’re on a solid surface like a mirror).
The colors of the Mallard male are quite spectacular – the green contrasting with the brown tones. I also love their reflection on the pond and the ripples in the pond created by their movement.
