We were treated to this magical moment on the island of Maui.
This Honu – the Hawaiian word for the Green Sea Turtle – was resting on the beach at sunset. There was this narrow spot of sandy beach just below our condo and it had pulled itself out of the sea to warm up. What a special moment to witness.
Apart from the turtle “parked” perfectly to view the sunset, I like the sun’s glow on the wet sand, the clouds laid out creatively on the horizon, and the slope of Molokai Island at far right.
