Captured this photo while snorkeling the reefs around Bunaken Island, Indonesia. This is one of my favorite underwater photos from that trip – the Orange Lined Trigger Fish.

Apart from the varied color and patterns on this beautiful animal, I like the healthy Staghorn Coral that makes up the background. The angle of the fish and the space in front of it (with the fish being right of center) suggests it’s in motion.

I had to look at other photos of this animal and as far as I can tell, the light band on its hind section is a refraction from the sun coming through the water.
