With most of my photos I enhance only slightly, sometimes cropping them. This is one photo where I did more editing (post work) to achieve the feeling I wanted. With a strong HDR (High Dynamic Range) filter it looks more like a painting than a photograph. And yet it captures the mood that I desire.
I love the range of blues in this image, the layers of wispy clouds in the sky, and the silhouette of San Francisco just right of center. You can see the SF Bay Bridge with Yerba Buena Island and Alcatraz Island in the center. I love the solitary seagull near the bottom, almost as if she’s looking at you. And the smattering of other birds on the water as we as a bird in-flight in the distance.
