I captured this image from inside the pool at a resort we enjoyed in Northern Laos. Muang La was a beautiful small resort situated on a river, this beautiful pool was on a small island in the middle of the river.
I say it “was” because a few years after we stayed here, a dam upstream broke and released a flood of water and debris that damaged the local town as well as the resort.
