On our visit to Vietnam in the city of Hue – which served as Imperial City / Capital of Vietnam for decades – we enjoyed visiting one of the many “tombs” of former Emporers of Vietnam. Emporer Tu Duc was the 4th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. He had this property built for his life after serving but also (in tradition) for his afterlife. The whole property occupies almost 50 acres and among the many features is this beautiful lake with a pavillon.

I loved the many lilly pads covering the pond, the contrasting colors of the terra cotta roof and the angles and shapes througout the palace.
