Late summer flowers typical in the California foothills – Star Thistle captured near Rush Creek Trail, Novato. These are brilliantly colored flowers with dramatic and sharp thorns. Seeing this reminds me of the season here in California… dry with brown hills dotted with warm colors of summer.
