Saw that it was 50 years ago yesterday that the US officially pulled out of Vietnam. It was 6 years ago we had a trip to Vietnam – seeing the country in a _very_ different way that fellow US citizens did during the Vietnam conflict. I was wondering how we’d be received. I am fortunate as I did not have any family who served in Vietnam so my feelings may be different than others.
I captured this photo during our multi-day trek in Sapa, in the mountains of north Vietnam. I love that this image has a prominent foreground with the rice growing and then you look down into the valley with the winding path alongside the winding river and off into the distance where the clouds frame the background.
