For the first day of July I was looking back and came across this photo from our road trip to the Badlands in South Dakota. It has one road (highway) that crosses the National Park and there were many times we found ourselves the only one on the road. With this expansive sky I got out and stood in the middle of the road to capture this view.

I love all the lines in this image – the center line off into the distance, the lines of the edge of the road as well as lines in the pavement made by hundreds or thousands of vehicle tiers. The speckled white clouds against a deep blue sky, with the Badlands geographic features in the distance.

Wishing you a summer adventure – whether in your home town or in your travels.
