On our trip to Indonesia for snorkeling we stayed at the Murex Manado dive resort. They have some beautiful grounds and include a pond filled with Lotus. One morning I spent a few minutes enjoying (and photographing) these gorgeous plants. Good thing I did in the morning as they closed up in the afternoon.
I like this photo most of all from that morning – with the leaves of the blossom splayed out in an interesting pattern, the range of colors with the light and the soft focused background of green and the additional out of focus blossom on the water behind. With the primary blossom slightly right of center I also find it brings an element of interest instead of being dead center.
