Buddhist monk with children in Laos.
Apart from landscapes and animals I enjoy capturing images of children in “real moments”.

This image was just outside of a temple in a small town in Northern Laos – you can see the flip-flops and shoes on the temple steps (practice is to remove foot wear before entering temples). The adults are on their phones while the young girls having a conversation with the monk. It appears her big sister is also engaged in this moment.

There is so much little detail in the background of this photo that I believe lends itself to “painting the moment” from the beautiful carvings on the temple (the mythical Naga serpent) to the lush green foliage filling in the background.
