In Amboseli National Park in Kenya (Africa) there was this Cattle Egret sitting on the back of one elephant. I chose to keep a cropped image without showing the head or the tail of the Elephant and this image “works” for me. I love the contrast between the light and airy Egret, the wisps of clouds, somewhat circular patterns on the elephants back as well as the round-ish big ear at the left edge of the image.

While in Africa we learned from our guides that Egrets and other birds will move along with a herd of elephants as their footsteps through the brush cause insects to scurry, and the birds take advantage of this activity in the form of a meal.
