I love seeing reflections – something about the world that can be seen differently, even though it’s right in front of you. I captured this photo of one of my favorite subjects, the Golden Gate Bridge, while walking along the sandy shore along the promenade on the San Francisco side of the bridge.

This is only possible at low tide, as it’s usually under water. The break in the shiny water, with the bare sand in between, if a little odd but I like the effect. If you follow the bridge tower there is a disconnect between the line of the tower and at top center. And at top center there is a streak of water that appears to pull the bridge tower from a straight line into a curve. I also like the contrast in colors between the orange (golden) bridge tower and the blue sky reflected in the water.
