In San Diego there’s a small spit of land called Shelter Island where you’ll find the Kona Kai Hotel. We’ve been fortunate to visit a few times in the Fall where I captured some colorful sunrises.
I captured this photo from the balcony of our room looking towards the hotel restaurant and pool. I like the colorful horizon with the single palm peeking out at left and the strands of the palm frond very near the camera at right. The soft focused reflections in the harbor below add to the location as does the small stretch of sandy beach below.
